What does heat wrap do? This product is simply wrapped around exhaust headers or turbos to retain the heat in the gas. Thus reducing under-bonnet temperatures and induction temperatures. Cooler air in the engine bay gives better performance. Why choose LMA heat wrap? LMA heat wrap is a hi-temp fibreglass composite material with a bright white finish. It offers great performance at an affordable price. What size do I need? The two inch tape is better for straighter pipes or long smooth bends, whereas the one inch tape is better suited to tight bends. A typically sized turbo or down pipe will require just one 16ft roll, whereas a large four-branch manifolds may require two or even three rolls. Do I need locking straps? Stainless steel locking ties are a good idea. They are used for securing the ends of the wrap in place (scroll to the bottom of this page for a link). Do I need to coat my wrap? LMA do not recommend coatings for their heat wrap.
