What is a ‘GTN’ kit?
At the front this GTN kit has height adjustable Coil-Overs with gas assisted zinc plated dampers. The springs mount on seats which can be wound up or down the damper body to achieve a lowering anywhere between 35mm and 75mm The rear dampers are also gas assisted and feature an epoxy coated finish for durability. The rear can be lowered in increments of about 8mm between 30mm and 50mm by simply re-locating a circlip on each rear damper. The damper settings are non-adjustable and have been engineered to work in harmony with the uprated Weitec springs.

What’s included in this kit?
This kit includes two pre-set front dampers with threaded spring seats, two pre-set rear dampers with stepped height spring seats, two 2.25” diameter uprated front springs and two uprated rear springs. A special adjusting spanner is also included (required for adjusting the spring seats at the front).

The handling
This Weitec GTN kit has been engineered to give a firmer, sporty ride whilst retaining the suppleness required for day-to-day road use. Reduced ride height will reduce body roll and allow faster cornering.

This kit will fit…
This Weitec kit is suitable for all Ford Puma models manufactured between 1997 and 2003. This includes all 1.4i, 1.6i and 1.7i models. This kit is not suitable for the 'Racing Puma'.

PLEASE NOTE
Lowering a vehicle by 50mm or more may, under certain circumstances, cause tyre/arch clearance problems.

As with all suspension kits it may be necessary to fit spacers/shims behind the wheels for a little added clearance. This depends greatly on the wheel/tyre sizes being used.

Choosing the right option
You will need to establish whether your car has 'Fork' mounts or 'Eye' mounts at the bottom of the rear dampers. Take a look at the lower mounting bracket of the rear damper - where it attaches to the rear beam. The diagram on this page illustrates the difference between the two damper mounting designs.

Typically models manufactured upto 1998 have 'Fork' mounts, whereas models manufactured from 1998 on have 'Eye' mounts. If in doubt please call our sales team.
