What is a ‘GT’ kit?
This GT kit is fully height adjustable for the front and rear. The springs mount on seats which can be wound up or down the damper body to achieve a lowering anywhere between 35mm and 75mm at the front and rear.
The GT damper bodies are bright zinc plated and feature uprated gas assisted internals. The damper settings are non-adjustable and have been pre-set to work in harmony with the 2.25” diameter uprated Weitec springs.
What’s included?
This kit includes four pre-set gas assisted dampers with bright zinc plated bodies matched with four 2.25” diameter uprated Weitec springs. A special adjusting spanner is also included (required for adjusting the spring seats).
The handling
This Weitec GT kit features pre-set damping which has been engineered to give a firmer, sporty character whilst retaining the suppleness required for road use. The ride height is fully adjustable and can be set up to suit your taste. Reduced ride height will reduce body roll and allow faster cornering.
This kit will fit…
This Weitec kit is suitable for all Ford Puma models manufactured between 1997 and 2003. This includes all 1.4i, 1.6i and 1.7i models. This kit is not suitable for the 'Racing Puma'.
PLEASE NOTE
Lowering a vehicle by 50mm or more may, under certain circumstances, cause tyre/arch clearance problems.
As with all suspension kits it may be necessary to fit spacers/shims behind the wheels for a little added clearance. This depends greatly on the wheel/tyre sizes being used.
Choosing the right option
You will need to establish whether your car has 'Fork' mounts or 'Eye' mounts at the bottom of the rear dampers. Take a look at the lower mounting bracket of the rear damper - where it attaches to the rear beam. The diagram on this page illustrates the difference between the two damper mounting designs.
Typically models manufactured upto 1998 have 'Fork' mounts, whereas models manufactured from 1998 on have 'Eye' mounts. If in doubt please call our sales team.
