What is a ‘Variant 1’ kit?
The Variant 1 is KW’s best selling Coil-Over system. It’s ideally suited for those who appreciate fine handling and understand a well engineered top quality product, but don’t want to spend hours setting a car up for track use.
The dampers
The dampers in this kit feature hardened chrome piston rods, Teflon coated pistons and superior quality seals & valves. The rebound and compression settings have been pre-set after endless testing by KW engineers. These dampers require no adjustment once fitted.
The springs
The spring rates have been specially tuned to suit this vehicle, taking into account its weight and dynamics. The springs are manufactured from chrome-silicon steel (54SiCR6), which is shot-peened, zinc phosphate plated and powder coated.
Height adjustment
The springs mount onto seats which can be wound up or down to achieve a lowering anywhere between 35mm and 70mm at the front and between 20mm and 50mm at the rear. A grub screw in each spring seat is a neat touch which locks the seat in place.
What’s included?
This kit contains four pre-set gas assisted dampers with four matching uprated KW springs and two adjustable spring platforms for the rear. A special adjusting spanner is also included.
The handling
This Variant 1 kit features pre-set damping which has been engineered to give a firmer, sporty character whilst retaining the suppleness required for road use. The ride height is fully adjustable and can be set up to suit your taste. Reduced ride height will reduce body roll and allow faster cornering.
This kit will fit…
This KW kit is suitable for all Stilo models (except the JTD) manufactured from 2001.
PLEASE NOTE
Lowering a vehicle by 50mm or more may, under certain circumstances, cause tyre/arch clearance problems.
As with all suspension kits it may be necessary to fit spacers/shims behind the wheels for a little added clearance. This depends greatly on the wheel/tyre sizes being used.
