What is a ‘Variant 2’ kit?
The Variant 2 is intended for the more experienced driving enthusiast who wants to fine tune the rebound setting of their dampers as well as the ride height of their car. The vehicles pitch and roll behaviour can be adjusted to suit the driver’s particular style and taste. The Variant 2 is an ideal kit for road and track use.
The dampers
Variant 2 dampers are fully adjustable for rebound. The damper bodies are made from a stainless steel alloy and have a mirror polished finish. Not only does this look amazing, but this material will far outlast any other galvanised damper body. The dampers feature hardened chrome piston rods, Teflon coated pistons and superior quality seals & valves.
The springs
The spring rates have been specially tuned to suit this vehicle, taking into account its weight and dynamics. The springs are manufactured from chrome-silicon steel (54SiCR6), which is shot-peened, zinc phosphate plated and powder coated.
Height adjustment
The springs mount onto seats which can be wound up or down the damper body to achieve a lowering anywhere between 45mm and 75mm at the front and between 25mm and 55mm at the rear. A grub screw in each spring seat is a neat touch which locks the seat in place.
This kit will fit…
This KW kit is suitable for all Accord models manufactured between 1990 and 1998. This includes Saloon & Coupe versions. These models have a chassis code/body type known as CB,CC,CE,CD and CF.
PLEASE NOTE
Lowering a vehicle by 50mm or more may, under certain circumstances, cause tyre/arch clearance problems.
As with all suspension kits it may be necessary to fit spacers/shims behind the wheels for a little added clearance. This depends greatly on the wheel/tyre sizes being used.
