About ‘Redstuff’ padsEver since EBC introduced this ceramic material in 2003, it has been receiving positive write ups from performance car drivers. Redstuff pads have a friction factor of 0.5 (standard road pads have a friction factor of about 0.3, and Greenstuff has 0.46). They offer a significant improvement in brake performance and superb resistance to high temperature brake fade. Recommended Usage EBC recommend these pads for medium to heavy weight cars, and/or those with over 200bhp. They’re ideal for fast road & track day use. Short warm-up time and amazing stopping power make them the competition pad that can be used for everyday road use too. The ‘Warm-up’ Procedure As you would expect from such a high performance pad Redstuff is designed to operate effectively at higher temperatures. This means that the first use of the brakes in each journey is used to ‘warm-up’ the pads and discs. From there on the pads will remain at their optimum warm temperature. Kinder to Alloy Wheels Redstuff pads cut down between 60-90% of the dust common with most performance pads. They are kinder to alloys and allow wheels to look cleaner & shinier for longer. What’s Included? Pads are always supplied in front or rear sets. Each set includes four individual pads which are enough for a pair of brake calipers. IMPORTANT NOTE There are two different front pads listed below. Ford fitted what we call the 'large' caliper or 'small' caliper to V6 models. As a general rule Ford fitted 'large' calipers to earlier (1996-98) models and 'small' calipers to later (1998-00) models. There is in fact only 1mm difference in their pad sizes (155mm or 156mm), and there are no distinguishing features to identify which calipers are fitted to a particular V6 model. There is no easy way of selecting the correct pad for a V6. So, if in doubt please purchase both pads and return the unused set.
