Why replace the factory standard air-box?Standard air filters along with their housings are designed to perform a satisfactory filtering job whilst keeping noise levels down. Ideal if you’re an old lady going to the shops – but not if your interested in performance! Getting rid of the air box and replacing the standard paper filter for a sexy cone filter not only looks great but performs so much better. What’s so good about the Viper? The technology used in this Viper induction kit was first seen on the Lotus 340R. It uses ‘velocity air force’ to blast cold air directly into the engine. The Viper’s stunning looks with its carbon fibre heatshield make it the focal point of any engine bay! How does this improve performance? Cold air is fed to the Viper’s 100mm diameter inlet, swirling it through a unique velocity filter, and then into a ram pipe to increase it’s pressure before feeding it into the induction system. The heat shield protects the air charge from under bonnet heat keeping it cool - and therefore denser - thus introducing more oxygen into the combustion mixture to give increased power. The increase in power using a Viper against a standard air box will be immediately evident. What about the sound? During normal driving there’ll be no discernable difference in noise level compared to a standard air box. But when you when you nail the throttle you’ll get that wonderful Viper roar! Factory standard air boxes are designed to muffle the sound. That’s fine if you want to listen to Radio2 whilst visiting the garden centre! As a performance enthusiast you’ll crave the induction sound that you get when the throttle’s wide open! How does this noise compare to other induction kits? Unlike most cone filters the Viper has a carbon fibre heatshield and therefore a totally unique induction noise. It seems to hold back the higher pitched intake noises and allows the deep bass to punch through. Driving enthusiasts will love it. The exact noise level will depend upon the amount of sound insulation in your car. How do I fit it? Fitting varies greatly from car to car. In most cases the job can be carried out in around 20-30 minutes using ordinary DIY tools. The Viper comes complete with fitting kit and instructions. It’s easy to install with no drilling required. The installation utilises existing under-bonnet bolt holes so it can be removed at a later date if so desired FREE DELIVERY & FREE CLEANER KIT Every Viper kit we supply comes with a FREE cleaner kit (worth £9.38) and if you’re in the UK (mainland) it will be delivered to you for FREE too!
