Why use plates?
Base plates fit in-between the mirrors and the car. The mirror mounts directly to one side of the base plate. The other side of the base plate will require modifying to fit.

Modification work
The amount of work involved in fitting these base plates will vary from car to car. Often the original base plates from the car can be used together with the universal ones. Universal base plates should only be used if a 'specific' mirror kit is not available.

Choosing the right kit
You can choose just the mirrors (supplied in pairs), but choosing the kit will cut down on the amount of DIY work required. The full kit options includes a pair mirrors and base plates.

Electric mirror options
Electrically operated versions of this mirror are available as 3 wire or 4 wire. This refers to the number of electrical wires that connect to the mirror. If your original mirrors have 3 wires then order a 3 wire mirror. If your original mirrors have 4 wires then order a 4 wire mirror.
