What does a big disc kit do? Replacing the standard sized front discs with 325mm ones provide more leverage for the brake calipers to work upon. The larger size of these discs along with their increased rotational speed improves heat dissipation and drastically reduces brake fade. What’s included?
This kit includes a pair of grooved 325mm diameter vented disc rotors, a pair of light weight aluminium centre bells, a pair of brake caliper relocation brackets, and all necessary nuts, bolts and washers. A set of caliper spacers are also included. These are required to widen the standard calipers to cope with the new larger discs. Other items worth considering (but not included in this kit) are performance brake pads, braided hose lines and performance brake fluid. What size wheels do I need?
As a general rule this kit will fit behind all 17 inch wheels, and may also fit behind some 16” ones too. Please check the internal diameter of your wheel before ordering. A minimum diameter of 375mm (15 inches) is required. About fitting
Fitting should always be carried out by a competent individual – preferably a professional engineer. Due to the tolerances allowed by car manufacturers and small variations in their designs this big disc kit may in some cases require minor modification to fit. A typical example of which would be grinding the bracket supplied or filing away a casting mark on the caliper.Additional note This kit includes spacers which are required for widening the standard calipers.
