What’s wrong with a standard fuel regulator? When accelerating from standstill, fuel pressure increases at a proportional rate retaining a lean fuel mixture as required by E.E.C regulations. This gives lethargic throttle response, occasional drivability problems and flat spots. What does an FSE Power Boost valve do? On acceleration from standstill the Power Boost Valve increases fuel pressure at 1.7 times the standard rate. This will produce a healthy, strong fuel mixture which instantly improves drivability. You can expect an instant throttle response, the removal of flat spots and faster acceleration. You won’t necessarily see a top-end BHP improvement, but you will notice cleaner acceleration and improved responsiveness. What about fuel economy? At cruising speeds the Power Boost Valve behaves normally and therefore does not affect fuel economy. It’s totally adjustable Most standard fuel pressure regulators are not adjustable. This Power Boost Valve can be adjusted to your specific requirements via a screw on the crown of the unit. You may wish to use a separate fuel pressure gauge to accurately set up the Power Boost Valve. A set up gauge is available elsewhere on this website. Choosing between Cast & Billet The billet style Power Boost Valve features a machined aluminium casing which really looks impressive under the hood. It’s available in a choice of colours whereas the cast type is only available in a dull grey finish. The internals of both types are exactly the same. The main advantage of the Billet type power boost valve is the ease with which it can be adjusted. An adjusting knob allows quick and easy set up of the fuel pressure. The cast type valve can be adjusted too, but this is done by a screw. How does it fit? The FSE Power Boost Valve simply replaces the original fuel pressure regulator and is fairly simple to install. The job can be done using basic tools and should take about 30 minutes to fit. What’s included? This item directly replaces the original fuel pressure regulator. You may wish to use a separate fuel pressure gauge to accurately set up the Power Boost Valve. A set up gauge is available elsewhere on this website.
